Like its sister product (Maxime PCR Premix) in most regards, this DNA polymerase master mix offers the additional advantage of hot start PCR technology. In a PCR reaction, even short incubations at temperatures below the optimum annealing temperature can result in mispriming, elongation and the subsequent formation of spurious bands. Hot start PCR ameliorates the deleterious effects of mispriming at low temperatures during PCR. The hot start polymerase used in Maxime HS PCR is fully reactivated by a simple 2 minute incubation at 94°C. You can expect repeatable results capable of efficiently amplifying almost any specific target under 5 kb. Maxime HS PCR all-in-one premix has been tested against the original enzyme and the enzyme in a liquid premix to show that no loss of activity or specificity is observed when using the patented freeze-dried technology. Each sealed 0.2 ml PCR tube contains all the components needed for gel-based analysis of your sample - just add template and primers. The loading buffer is also in the premix reaction, so electrophoresis is as simple as load-and-go. The mix utilizes a modified version of the i-Taq enzyme which compares favorably with PCR products from other name brand sources. Its simplicity is a hallmark of good SOP for most studies, reducing the chances of adding human error into any PCR workflow.
