"In-Tip" Design Makes Analysis Easier

Hello from Bulldog Bio!

We're very excited to announce our newest partner - Picodrop - developer of the next generation of µl-scale spectrophotometers. Picodrop systems have been sold in Europe and Asia for over three years and we're exclusively bringing this pioneering "touchless" technology to researchers in the USA. Take a look below for details.

Best in Show -
Picodrop™ µl Spectrophotometer

Here's a twist on a new concept - a spectro-photometer that provides a full range of wavelengths for analysis, requires microliter-volume samples, and performs the entire process in three seconds without ever leaving your pipette tip. No clean-up. No contamination. No physical calibration. The Picodrop µl Spectrophotometer is the simplest answer for DNA and Protein quantification. And when it matters, the "in-tip" design allows for complete recovery of your sample - not a drop is wasted. This system also boasts advanced software for a plethora of other absorbance/transmission applications. Intrigued? Contact us for a demo!

Advantages

  • Touchless "in tip" design
  • Easy upkeep - no physical calibration or cleaning
  • 100% recovery of precious samples
  • Simply the fastest & easiest to use
  • Throw Me a Bone

As with most of our instrumentation - we offer the Picodrop with a no-commitment purchase option.  Just place an order and we'll deliver and allow you to use it for 30 days without ever invoicing.  If after those 30 days you're completely satisfied, we'll ask for payment. Otherwise return it - no questions asked.

And did we mention we'll also reduce the price of Picodrop by $500?  There's no excuse not to try one for your lab.

    "real lab experience"

When "the onion is peeled", at the center of every quality spectrophotometer is the optical design and components. The patented "in tip" design of the Picodrop has been thoroughly vetted to meet the high standards of an earlier generation of µl-scale spectrophotometers. The key to this design is a disposable pipette tip that is invisible to the working spectrum of the system. The non-absorbing tips allow a broad range of light from its ultra-durable xenon lamp, between 230 nm and 850 nm, to pass with nary a change, so that the CCD detector can provide an ultra-precise measurement. We invite you to read some recent publications that use the Picodrop for DNA and protein qunatitation. We think you'll be impressed!

Every quarter we give away 30 scientist bobble heads to subscribers to The Barker that can answer a riddle or logic problem. If you know the answer to this month's challenge, click here to submit your answer and have a chance to win a free Pillars of Science bobble head.

In honor of our newest addition to our Pillars of Science collection, Charles Darwin, we will pose a scientific twist on a classic riddle that he might have appreciated, tongue-in-cheek.

Below is a sequence of 12 letters, derived from a very simple relationship, in which the first three letters have been ommitted. In earlier days, this may have been used as an intellengence test in English-speaking schools:

    _ _ _ F F S S E N T E T

What are the first three letters?
