Q1 – Can I use CleanPCR beads to clean up genomic DNA samples?
Yes. When purifying gDNA using CleanPCR or CleanNGS, the drying time can affect the yield. When drying time is too long, the gDNA can wrap itself around the beads, making it harder to elute and release the gDNA. Therefore, we recommend shortening the drying time to a maximum of 3 to 5 minutes.

The normal CleanPCR/CleanNGS protocol can be used for gDNA clean-up. Simply add 1.8x the sample volume of beads to the extracted plant or animal gDNA sample. For elution itself, you might consider using an elution buffer that also helps with DNA preservation during storage, such as 10 mM Tris, pH 8.0.
