Shake Samples under Temperature Control

Introducing the über-shaker
For precise control of speed and temperature in a small package, the BioShake iQ has no equal. Boasting the same mixing mechanics as the XP, the iQ adds the popular feature of over the shaking samples. All of this, and still with a footprint no bigger than 2 microplates side-by-side, promises well-blended samples in a . No wonder that a growing number of samples are taking a ride on the BioShake iQ.

The science of mixology
German designed and manufactured, BioShake Plate Mixers offer an, ultra-efficient, totally controlled shaking axis so that samples in a fraction of the time of competing systems. The orbital shaking is so precisely controlled, in fact, that you need never spin down your plates after mixing. Even , or low sample volumes, offer no obstacle for these precision tools. Fully adjustable between 200 rpm and 3000 rpm, well beyond the speeds of most other brands, for tubes, glass vials or across an entire 1536-well microplate. Discover why BioShake Plate Mixer’s are without peer in the industry.

Your samples will never know what shook them
To say that BioShake Plate Mixers are whisper quiet is not an overstatement. These devices are intended to shake tubes only and mix their contents – not vibrate the entire lab bench or robotic deck. A large part of the noise reduction is derived from a patented dampening system that relies upon ingenious counter-weight symmetry. Your eyes will see a blur, but your ears won’t believe it.

Additional Information

BioShake ThermoMixers deliver outstanding thermal heating performance. Reduced mass sample blocks provide for quick heating and accurate temperature control across the entire block. This image shows a U-bottom 96-well plate being incubated at 77°C. At steady state, the entire range of temperature over the 7 spot measurements indicated, vary between 76.1°C and 78.1°C.

Utilizing a quick change sample block design, the BioShake iQ can accept microfuge tubes (0.2, 0.5, 1.5 and 2.0 ml), glass vials (2 ml and 4 ml) and microplates (96-, 384- and 1536-well microplates of deep-well, v-well and u-well shape).

BioShake Plate Mixers have an orbit diameter of 2mm and a maximum shaking frequency of 3,000 rpm, allowing any model to easily mix standard and low volume samples in 96-, 384- and 1536-well plates. This provides researchers with the confidence that every well, even with the most dense plates, will be adequately stirred.

Indicated above is the required mixing speeds [rpm] on BioShake Plate Mixers for different micro plates depending on the percentage of “filling” volume in each well.

12 µl aqueous samples were mixed in a 384-well flat bottomed microplate on the BioShake XP. Outlined in yellow, 1700 rpm is the slowest speed needed to initiate mixing of such a small volume. Outlined green, 2900 rpm is the speed required to provide maximal mixing as measured by the apex of the wave front. Imaged using super slow-motion videography.
