The Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit allows for rapid and reliable isolation of high-quality genomic DNA from a wide variety of animal tissue sources. The Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit is based upon CleanNA’s proprietary magnetic bead system to extract an ultra-pure fraction of genomic DNA from 1 µL to 200 µL of blood. The source blood can be fresh or frozen whole blood or buffy coat containing anticoagulants such as Citrate, EDTA and Heparin. The kit works equally well with non-blood sources too! It’s easy to extract DNA from saliva, solid tissue samples, buccal swabs, mouse tail snips, and even cultured cells.
The elimination of heating and centrifugation steps for the standard protocol allows the Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit to be easily implemented on liquid handling workstations (e.g. Beckman, Hamilton, Tecan, Caliper, Perkin Elmer, Agilent, and Eppendorf). The kit is also designed to be easily scalable, meaning your lab can go from low to high throughput with little or no re-optimization. The protocol is streamlined, efficient, and requires minimal work for your lab to get it running efficiently.
The samples are lysed using specially formulated lysis buffers, which are optimized for the various types of animal tissue sources. DNA is isolated from the lysate in just one step by binding to CleanNA’s proprietary paramagnetic particles. The surface of these particles is treated for optimal retention of target products with almost zero background binding. The CleanNA paramagnetic particles are separated from the lysates by using a simple, robot-friendly magnetic separation device. Following a few rapid wash steps to remove trace contaminants, the purified DNA is eluted from the CleanNA particles for downstream applications using an elution buffer.

The Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit enables isolation of high-quality DNA, suitable for direct use in most downstream applications. The resulting gDNA is of excellent quality, with 260/280 OD ranges between 1.8 and 1.9 and nearly undetectable levels of cross-contaminating RNA or protein molecules.
