RedStar DNA/RNA 6x Loading Dye is a safe and superior alternative to traditional ethidium bromide (EtBr) stain for detecting nucleic acids in agarose gels. Its formulation includes an innocuous fluorescent dye with traditional tracking dyes in a 6-fold concentration – ideal to add and load.

A ready-to-use loading dye format simplifies the process and ensures that the dye is evenly distributed throughout the sample making it easier to track the progress of electrophoresis and analyze the results in real-time without the need to wash or destain the gels. Clear and bright visualization is recommended under UV light as well as more modern blue and blue/green LEDs.

RedStar DNA/RNA 6x Loading Dye has one important difference when compared with EtBr — RedStar causes far fewer mutations in the Ames test. For this reason, it is not considered hazardous waste and can be disposed of according to standard laboratories procedures.

Convenient and compatible DNA ladders
RedStar DNA/RNA 6x Loading Dye can be used in conjunction with RedStar 1 Kb DNA Ladder or RedStar 100 bp DNA Ladder. Each is formulated in the same way using the identical safe fluorescent dye found in RedStar DNA/RNA 6x Loading Dye. Just load and run!
